The base of each leaf stalk--approximately the bottom 5 inches--is where the flavor hides in this citrusy herb. Remove the leafy top and woody bottom, strip the tough outer layers, and you'll discover the delicious white inner stalk. Chop or mince and add it to Asian-inspired curries, stir fries, and marinades. Use the discarded lemongrass bits to infuse tea, broth, or soup with citrus flavor. Cotton comes unraveled depending on which way you turn it in your ear. Stick is not as sturdy. Even the box doesn’t slide out anymore. I have used this brand for the past 60 years and am disappointed.
